I am currently offering supervision in both Oregon and Washington to pre-licensed master’s level therapists pursuing licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
I am a Supervisor Candidate in the state of Oregon. This means that, like you, I am receiving supervision to ensure my competence in the realm of helping you in your journey to become a licensed professional. I have met all the requirements to supervise pre-licensed professionals towards licensure in the state of Washington.
Working with me...
Just like fit is important with a therapist, fit is important with your supervisor! I work best with supervisees who are prepared to engage in honest reflection about their growth and experience. Be prepared to be guided and challenged, supported and pushed to be your best self as a therapist.
I am most effective with supervisees who display:
Good organization
Self-awareness
A willingness to challenge implicit biases and blind spots
Sincere accountability for their choices and actions
As a supervisor my primary goal is to help you develop the confidence and skills to provide competent, equitable and informed counseling to your clients. As someone with multiple privileged identities, I have committed myself to anti-oppressive and anti-racist work and my approach as a supervisor would be to cultivate and help you find these lenses within yourself. Identifying our blind spots and biases is a necessary part of providing competent care to all identities and expressions!
My lens in supervision is systemic in nature and informed primarily by emotion-focused therapy, internal family systems and relational life principles. While these are my primary modalities, I am familiar with many therapeutic models and know that my purpose is to support you in utilizing the modalities and perspectives that speak to you.
Now the logistics...
I offer 55-minute individual supervision sessions. At this time I do not have a supervision group, but I am happy to form one if I have interest from at least four people who can commit to attending group supervision 1-2 times monthly. Please contact us to get on my waitlist for group supervision. Group supervision sessions are 110 minutes in length.
The following rates are in place for supervision with me:
55-Minute Individual Session: $165
Group Supervision Session: $80 per person
At this time, due to COVID-19, supervision will take place via video or phone call. Should you wish to see me in-person, we can discuss options and the appropriate forms and procedure documents will be provided.
If you think I could be the right supervisor for you, I would love for us to set up a time to talk about your needs and my professional style and orientation. A consultation for supervision with me is free, so don't hesitate to reach out to my assistant, Sarah, to get on my schedule!
Professional Consultation
As a therapist and counselor, it can be hard to admit when we're struggling and need help. Realizing we have our own biases and blind spots can be uncomfortable, frustrating and sometimes defeating. Even after admitting we need a fresh pair of eyes on the problem or issue at hand, the process of finding the right person, with all the right knowledge and experience to help, can be equally disheartening.
This struggle of knowing we need more support and information, but feeling unsure of where to find it is one of the reasons I want to offer my professional expertise and experience to other professionals through clinical consultation. If you're interested, read on for more information about the process.
What does consultation with you look like?
At this time I provide 55-minute clinical consultations to other licensed providers via video call. These are singular meetings where I offer feedback, knowledge and another perspective on a clinical matter that feels challenging, unclear or emotionally activating.
In our consultation, I will ask you what you're struggling with, for some pertinent details in the case or issue you want to discuss, and I want to know what you would like to get out of our time together. Having this information will help me to facilitate a more useful discussion and will guide my recommendations. After our call, I will reach out via email with any references, resources and recommendations we discussed. You are also welcome to reach back out within four weeks following our consultation call with any further questions or follow-up concerns.
While helping you to reach your goal for our time together is my top priority, sometimes, in complex and serious cases, I may share with you concerns, potential limitations I foresee and I may recommend transferring your case to a professional with the appropriate education and training.
I am open to providing consultations to unlicensed, masters-level clinicians, but only with expressed written consent from your supervisor(s). It is important that associates and students know that a consultation with me is not supervision and cannot be counted towards your supervision hours towards licensure.
Fees for Service
At this time, I schedule 55-minute professional consultations. My consulting fee is $250, payable by credit card or online invoice (due to social distancing) at the time of service.
You can reach out to my assistant, Sarah, to get on my schedule for a consultation or send an email with any questions or concerns you have. I look forward to supporting you in your professional growth!
Whatever your professional needs are I am happy to help!
